Santalucia Mobili chose the Sorgenia group to optimise how it manages energy consumption at its production plant. The company has benefitted from their competence and reliability, successfully implementing a state-of-the-art photovoltaic system.

Since 2020, Santalucia Mobili has been on a path towards environmental sustainability through its “To do Future” project, consisting of a strategic action plan to preserve the ecosystem and reduce the company’s environmental impact. One key example of its commitment in this sense is the recent construction of a photovoltaic system, in partnership with the Sorgenia group.

The system is designed to manage the company’s energy consumption and was officially unveiled at a press conference held on Wednesday 29 May 2024 at the Santalucia Mobili headquarters in Via Manin in Prata di Pordenone, in the company’s newly renovated exhibition space

The system in figures

The photovoltaic system covers the Santalucia Mobili production plant in Via Sagree, where all semi-finished furniture products are manufactured.

The area covered by the photovoltaic system is approximately 2,500 square metres; some 1,000 panels were installed. The peak power is 522 kWp, with annual energy production standing at 575,000 kWh, 70% of which will be used directly for manufacturing, reducing utility bills by 30%. Energy consumption can be monitored in real time via Sorgenia’s digital platform and phone app.

The plant’s energy consumption figures translate into a reduction in CO2 emissions of more than 254,000 kg, corresponding to the planting of 4,620 trees.

In conclusion, this innovative photovoltaic system represents just one step on Santalucia Mobili’s ambitious path towards consolidating its commitment to environmental sustainability. At the same time, it represents tangible proof of how companies must play an active role in their own ecological transition to really contribute to building a more sustainable future.

Looking ahead, the company has already planned a number of other initiatives to further reduce the environmental impact of its operations. For example, by exploring opportunities to use new alternative materials collaborating with suppliers who share the same vision of sustainability, or by implementing systems to monitor and manage resources more efficiently reducing waste, optimising time and improving product quality.
