Santalucia Mobili’s Goals: our commitment to training
Santalucia Mobili sees social responsibility as an integral part of corporate business – and training and outreach are a key part of this. This commitment is consolidated through ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the relationship between business and education.
This post provides a snapshot of some of the initiatives recently undertaken by Santalucia Mobili: three different examples of local collaborations, all with the same aim of supporting and improving cultural and professional growth opportunities for young people and students.
#1 A student and staff specialisation training centre
The Innovation Platform was launched in December 2021 by Cluster Legno and Federlegno and today includes Santalucia Mobili along with 9 other founding companies. A tangible result of this shared management model is the Brugnera-based state-of-the-art training centre for the wood and furniture sector. It will be used to train people on how to use specialist advanced-technology systems and machinery.
Un progetto che Santalucia Mobili ha deciso di supportare perché crede fermamente nell’importanza e nel ruolo della formazione, valore aggiunto per far crescere le persone professionalmente e al contempo il business aziendale.
#2 A donated book to encourage reading
In January, Santalucia Mobili donated copies of the book “Drilla” by author Andrew Clements (english version“Frindle”) to all four classes of pupils in the youngest year group at the secondary school “G. Ungaretti”, part of the Comprehensive “Federico da Prata”. The story was put forward by teachers and focuses on the use of words as a tool to enhance and broaden the mind.
This initiative is designed to promote reading among children, to stimulate their cultural growth. The idea immediately caught the interest of Santalucia Mobili, seeing it as a reinforcement of its corporate values, in particular contributing to social wellbeing.
#3 School and workplace partnership-building workshops
Santalucia Mobili took part in Pordenone Design Week again, now in its 11th year. The event was held in person on 7-11 March, after two years in an online format. The star of the event was of course design, which serves as the link between local companies and the world of education.
As part of the activities organised by Santalucia Mobili, students from the ISIA design university had the chance to take part in a workshop and an on-site visit to the production department and the materials library, the focal point of the company showroom. It was a useful opportunity for the students to work on the design project assigned to them, which was to create a piece of “fluid”, sustainable furniture made up of at least 50% warehouse stock.
Santalucia Mobili is proud of these three important initiatives and the relationship it has with local organisations. They are concrete examples of how the company is working towards achieving the UN 2030 Agenda’s Sustainable Development Goals for a better future.
